Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the venue?

The name of the venue is Camp Holiday Trails.

The address is: 400 Holiday Trails Lane Charlottesville, Va. 22903

There is signage for the venue as you get closer. We will have volunteers near the camp entrance and camp office to direct traffic.

What are the cabins and grounds like?

Camp Holiday Trails is in a rustic, natural setting. Think of summer camp for elementary to middle school aged children.

The cabin accommodations are bunk beds, in rooms with 8-20 other attendees.

There are two bathrooms in each cabin to share.

The grounds are expansive and hilly. Please take care as the trails are slippery when it rains.

We will have a few private vehicles available to aid in transportation between buildings, prioritizing those who have limited mobility. If you need transportation on CHT grounds, whenever possible, plan to ride with fellow attendees.

What should I bring with me?

You will want to bring your own bedding, please make sure to include a pillow. Volunteers will bring some extra blankets, but pack according to your sleeping preferences. Adults may also want to bring extra padding for the mattresses.

All cabins have outlets, but you will need to provide your own charging cords and adapters.

Please bring whatever it is you need to have a comfortable stay for two nights away from home. The cabins are shared sleeping spaces. We encourage you to bring sleep aids such as eye masks, headphones, ear plugs, etc.

We will have both indoor and outdoor activities, so plan on staying cool, warm, or dry depending on the weather. Please bring bug spray and sunscreen. A hat may also be helpful in mitigating exposure to the sun and to ticks when hiking.

You might also like to bring books you enjoy, books you might want to reference during any of our workshops or talks, instruments to play at the fire, or any favorite drinks or snacks. You are permitted to bring your own alcoholic beverages (no glass bottles), but smoking/vaping is not permitted on the grounds
